The 2nd INCONTACT training session for the INCO NCPs is planned to take place after the INCO NCP meeting of the 5th of October 2009 in Brussels, and consists of 2 different sessions:

The first session will include the presentation of specific NCP best practices and also about the effect of cultural differences in research initiatives (Check the complete INCONTACT Training agenda).

The second training session will take place on the 6th of October 2009 at APRE’s office (for a limited number of participants) and will focus on ”Gender in Research” (check the complete agenda).

Morning Session (9:00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.)

2. Expectations of participants and short pre-training questionnaire

3. Concepts: gender, gender equality, equal participation, equal opportunities, gender mainstreaming

4. Relevance and added value of gender and gender mainstreaming in the EU research policy and 7th Framework Programme (FP7)

5. Elements of gender mainstreaming in FP7

Afternoon session (13.30 p.m. – 16.00 p.m.)

6. Specific activities of international cooperation : some facts and figures

7. Examples of sex / gender relevance in Specific activities of international cooperation

8. A practical approach to assisting project applicants and project teams towards gender equality in EU research projects
